Don't let their surly demeanor fool you, the Pearly Yellowhead Jawfish makes for a peaceful and beautiful addition to any aquarium. As the name suggests, they sport a bright canary-yellow head that gradually fades into a beautiful pearlescent body.
Care
Pearly Yellowhead Jawfish grow to a maximum size of 4-5", and prefer a deep sand bed, allowing them to burrow. They can be a shy species, especially at first, and will rarely stray far from their home burrow, darting back at the slightest hint of danger. They are generally very peaceful, and can be kept in groups or with other peaceful bottom feeders without issues.
Diet
Due to their shy nature, feeding can be an issue with these jawfish, especially during initial acclimation. It's recommended to target feed a small amount of meaty foods near its burrow while the other fish are distracted with food elsewhere.
