Pajama Cardinals are a striking and peaceful species of cardinalfish known for their unique polka dotted pattern, resembling a child's pajamas. These fish are native to the western Pacific ocean from Fiji, Java, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Care
Pajama Cardinals grow to a maximum size of 3.5", and require tanks of at least 20 gallons. This is a very peaceful and often shy nocturnal species, and will tend to pick a secluded overhang of rock as their territory and stick to it. It's best to keep them in groups of 5 or more to spread any intraspecific aggression and encourage them to feel more comfortable in the open. Interestingly, like other cardinals, Pajama Cardinals are mouth brooders, with the male holding the eggs in his mouth and forgoing food until they're ready to hatch.
Diet
Pajama Cardinals are mostly carnivorous, and thrive on a protein rich diet of various prepared frozen foods.
