Truly a beautiful fish with an unfortunate name. The Fathead Sunburst Anthias has a stunning bright pink to neon orange gradient with striking orange lines around the eyes. Our anthias are currently around 2" in length.
Anthias prefer to be kept in small groups with mostly unaggressive tank mates. They'll form a harem with one dominant male and a group of females, and are capable of sequential hermaphroditism, with the dominant female becoming male in the event of his death. Maxing out at 5", the sunburst anthias should be kept in a tank of 75 gallons or more.
Due to their high metabolism, anthias require frequent feedings of meaty foods such as mysis, and may be difficult to get eating until they're comfortable in their new home.
