The Chalk Basslet (Serranus tortugarum), also known as the Chalk Bass, is a hardy and personable reef fish appreciated for its bright vertical blue striping and confident behavior. Small but assertive, this species makes an excellent addition to reef and fish-only aquariums when housed with compatible tankmates.
