Native Region:

The Arc Eye Hawkfish is found throughout the Indo-Pacific, from East Africa to Hawaii, typically inhabiting coral reefs where it perches on rocks and coral heads to ambush prey.

Tank Size: Minimum of 40 gallons

Temperature: 74-80°F (23-27°C)

pH: 8.0-8.4

Salinity: 1.023-1.025

Substrate: Live rock with plenty of ledges and perching spots.


Additional Tips:

Behavior: Likes to perch and observe its surroundings; may show aggression toward smaller fish and shrimp.

Compatibility: Best kept with larger, semi-aggressive tank mates; not suitable with small ornamental shrimp.

Diet: Carnivorous; feed a varied diet of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, krill, chopped seafood, and marine pellets.

Coral Safety: Generally does not nip at corals, but may disturb them while perching. Secure loose frags to prevent toppling.
