2. Medium Size (3-4 inches): These medium-sized clams are perfect for a variety of tank sizes, offering a significant visual impact without overwhelming the space. Their size also makes them easier to place and care for compared to larger clams.

3. WYSIWYG Selection: With our WYSIWYG option, you can select the exact clam you want from our online gallery. This ensures that you get the precise colors and patterns you desire, with no surprises.

Care Instructions:

  • Tank Size: A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended to accommodate the clam and provide ample space for growth.

  • Lighting: Maxima Clams require intense lighting to thrive. High-output LED lights, T5 fluorescent lights, or metal halide lights are ideal. Ensure the lighting setup mimics their natural habitat for optimal health and coloration.

  • Water Flow: Moderate water flow is essential to keep the clam's mantle clean and to provide nutrients. Avoid direct, strong currents that could cause stress.

  • Water Parameters:

    • Temperature: 74-82°F (23-28°C)
    • Salinity: 1.023-1.025 specific gravity
    • pH: 8.1-8.4
    • Calcium: 400-450 ppm
    • Alkalinity: 8-12 dKH
    • Magnesium: 1250-1350 ppm
  • Placement: Position the clam on a stable surface with its foot securely attached to a rock or the substrate. Maxima Clams prefer being placed on rock structures rather than directly on sand.

  • Feeding: While Maxima Clams primarily rely on photosynthesis, supplemental feedings of phytoplankton or specialized clam food can promote growth and health, especially in young or smaller clams.

Difficulty: Moderate, suitable for aquarists with some experience in maintaining reef aquariums.

Maximum Size: These clams can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) in their natural environment, but their growth rate will be slower in an aquarium setting.
