Acropora corals (Acropora species) are identified by their branching, tabling, or staghorn growth patterns. They have small, tightly packed polyps that extend slightly, giving colonies a textured appearance. Their colors are among the brightest in the reef hobby, ranging from neon greens and blues to deep purples and multi-colored morphs.
Natural Habitat
Native to reefs throughout the Indo-Pacific and Caribbean, Acropora dominate shallow, sunlit reef crests and upper slopes. They thrive in areas with intense water movement and strong sunlight—conditions that must be mimicked in aquariums for long-term success.

Feeding Acropora

Best kept with other SPS and peaceful reef fish. Avoid aggressive corals with long sweeper tentacles and fish known to nip at SPS (certain angelfish and butterflyfish). Compatible tankmates include tangs, wrasses, anthias, and reef-safe invertebrates.
