Bumblebee Snails are an excellent addition to any reef aquarium cleanup crew, serving not only as a general cleaner and scavenger, but a specialist in controlling or even eliminating pest vermetid snails. These small but striking snails are named for their shell patterning, which display alternating bands of black and yellow, resembling a bee.

Care

Bumblebee snails stay quite small, growing up to 1/2". They are reef safe, though may occasionally prey upon other snails or sessile invertebrates when food supplies get too low. Like other inverts, they are intolerant of copper, and are sensitive to rapid changes in water chemistry. As such, it's recommended to drip acclimate them when adding to a new tank.

Diet

Bumblebee snails generally don't require supplemental feeds, and get all the food they need from scavenging uneaten food, and foraging for pests like polychaete worms, including small bristle worms, as well as vermetid snails.
